He headed
towards the window, clear disappointment meeting his gaze.
What could have possibly gone wrong? After all he did! Everything just according to plan! The game had been settled perfectly, every single detail anticipated and worked out. How could her will prevail over his?
Just as suddenly as his entire world had fallen down, he had also collapsed against his own darkened shadows and wicked mist.
Then in that precise moment he couldn't do anything but to swallow hard, allowing despair to finally eat him out.
The tale was gone.
An ounce of pain spread across his countenance, a frown starting to form. Harm was already done.
A lonely tear began to fall down his cheek. He closed his rare blue eyes and let out a mournful sigh.
He knew he would miss her forever.
And so with a glare, he stared at his castle in ruins, goblins disappearing faster with each passing day. The labyrinth was cold and dark, offering only abandoned houses and a single broken throne. A velvet sky was colored in grey and underneath lied dead trees and whitered flowers. The forest was now deserted and the once giggling creatures were silent.
Nothing made sense anymore since she had taken the meaning away.
He felt lost.
With a final twist of the head and a saddened whisper, he at last decided to stop remembering. And once and for all succumbed the Goblin King, his very ending memory a ballroom in which he had danced with his one true love.
'Goodbye Sarah'.
And the labyrinth waved goodbye with him forever.
